based on the fact that you're listening to mp3. A 'high-end' laptop is meaningless if playback application, method of transmission, and dac are sub-par.

IMO, a decent computer playback rig (taking into consideration all of the above parts) is better than conventional digital costing much more. OTOH, if you're a digiphobe nothing will make you happy.
