I explained it in the post quite clearly. At least to me it is.

Sipmle lowdown- 16 and 24 bits have the 1st bit at the least rez.
16 bits have approx 96 db dynamic range.
24 bits has approx 144 db dynamic range ( theoretical)

Take 16 bits with 96 db and move it into 24bits. the Odbs level remains the same but the lowest level detail in the 16 bit has moved up un rez by 8.

Now the low level details are up out of the least desirable bits into useful linear areas. Vinyl has a sense of space not because of the high level clues but the low level details. Redbook has always lacked in this area.
