Dave,

In most cases with Foobar I find that even machine to machine and OS to OS allot of tweaking is required. With J River it's pretty simple and full of possibilities.

I have used Bias a few times to record Albums with. I also used Garage Band and a few other programs but don't really have the time to really get into this stuff. I have not used CoolEdits.

I prefer the Lynx22 for 2 channel stuff over the one and two. It does a good job and maybe more than you need but it's reasonable. My general feeling is that PCI boards really can't compete with outside of the box offerings because of power supply, emi and other noise but good ones are really expensive and the Lynx22 is pretty inexspensive over all to do both tasks.

Thanks
Gordon
