Yes, if you like the sound of vinyl and the convenience of digital,
this might be the best of both worlds. (Although the **process** of
digitizing the vinyl might be pretty daunting unless you enjoy
that sort of technical noodling around.)
It is a curious fact that even critical analog listeners (like, say,
Michael Fremer) have commented that a good digitization of a vinyl
source -- even at CD's resolution of 16 bits and 44.1 kHz -- can
preserve most if not all of the sound of vinyl playback -- even
the distinguishing sound of cartridges and turntables.
