Not tried any kind of stone device, but i know that if i touch the touchpad on my laptop, with no music playing it does create an audible noise. It seems perfectly possible that even if the Shakti isn't doing anything EMI wise, it might just be creating a mechanical influence- on your laptop the result may be to reduce some electrical noise, on mine it appears to introduce it.

Anyway, just a thought!
