Use Squeeze box for 6 ch play back... and transformer output

Just thinking, if I feed the DVD multi ch audio into 3 Sqeeze box each driving a power speaker, could I have 6 ch play back with out all the wiring? Also in DIY paradize, the output from SB is being replace with a transformer, any one tried it?
