I am ripping my cd collection to HD using EAC and FLAC. I want to import the resulting FLAC files to Windows Media Player. It will play the FLAC files with no problems as I have the necessary plugins for both FLAC and for tagging.

If I go to the WMP Library and bring up its listing, it provides an "Add to Library" possibility. I usually copy the FLAC file to the Windows "MY MUSIC" folder and then try to use the Add to Library command. However, Media Player does not recognize the FLAC tagging; and it is complicated by the fact that if there are other music files in the My Music folder, not in WMP, it will also download those into Media player, making one difficult mess since they all end up in the same album folder; and because the tagging is not recognized by WMP, they usually end up as Track 01, 02, etc.

I was also suprised that the WMP internet data base is not as good as the freedb, at least as classical music is concerned.

What is the proper way to import FLAC files into Windows Media Player?
