I'd suggest another level in your hierarchy:
Composer
Work (opus name and number)
Artist (Soloist_Conductor_Orchestra)
Movement (song?)
As your classical music collection gets larger, you acquire a second And third recording of your favorite works.
Many ripping programs allow you to specify a template for naming files including folder names derived from tags.
Flac is a good format for classical music. You can define the tags you need and go well beyond the standard MP3 tags.
I'd suggest that you look at the J. River Media Center 12 program for classical music playback. It also has secure ripping and tag editing. It provides the tag support and browsing features you need for the hierarchy you defined or the one I suggested. The functionality is all there unlike Foobar2000 which requires some effort to get what you want. MC 12 costs $ 40 but you can use a 30 day trial version to see if it is worth it for you.
