Just a note of caution for those thinking of buying an E-MU 0404 USB

I'm a pretty big fan of E-MU, they have some good designers, and I love my 1212M and 1820M.

However, a casual glance at the Unofficial E-MU forum will reveal a lot of owners have issues with pops and crackle with the 0404 USB. Apparently the driver is very sensitive to CPU load. People are talking about hearing pops even when firing up a web browser.

Hopefully E-MU will address these problems with updated drivers. I seem to recall early drivers for the 1212M/1820M were pretty dodgy as well.
