sorry i see now that you have the Cambridge "DacMagic Plus" model.
I have instead the basic version without Volume control, the one in the Stereophile review. Two different units and i guess yours is the better one being more expensive.
So forget what i said ... sorry again.
I see your unit needs a 12VDC/2A.
Regarding the stock power supply issue i see " Power: 12V wall-wart ".
An alternative could be one of the linear power supply on ebay.com.
Many people state that the best transformers are the R-core type.
They have a nice filtering effect on the mains noise.
But check DC plug size and the polarity to avoid issues.
