Check out Amazon, and look at their comparison charts.
Operating system, processor, memory, ram, all the same stuff you look at when buying a computer.
I found an Android tablet that was over priced at $149 with a case and screen cleaner. Got it on sale for like $59,and before I got it they, lowered the price to $50, a quick call got me the difference refunded.

Read the reviews and look for reliability issues. Others on here are much better informed then me, and may be able to recommend specific tablets.

If you are reasonably good with computers, tablets aren't too hard to figure out.
