RE: Streaming to microRendu in the basement - pics

Thanks.

Doesn't stacking the microRendu on the NuWave DAC create too much heat?

No. The DAC runs cool. It is the microRendu that produces a bit of concentrated heat from it's compact package but since the heat rises it's not a problem. The overall heat output is not that great (~ 1 to 2 watts tops). It just happens to be concentrated in that tiny package. Warm to the touch, not hot.

By the way, would you say the microRendu has a full sound with bloom or is more on the neutral, lean side?

I'd say the microRendu is neutral but not at all lean. I wouldn't count on the microRendu to change the overall tone of ones system. The other components like the DAC and tube amp have a much greater impact on the overall tone. The PS Audio DAC sounds more robust and full-bodied than some others I've tried including my Ayre QB-9 DSD that I sold a couple months ago. The Oppo HA-1 that I had was definitely on the lean side. The tube amp contributes some richness and is a great match for the transparent and detailed Thiel speakers.
