Solid State drives with Aurender W20?

At the suggestion that Aurender will replace the hard drives in the unit with SSDs for a price, I contacted one of the dealers.

First response:

"Our price sheet does not show this option. I will be contacting Aurender and will let you know as soon as I get an answer."

Follow up response quoted from Aurender:

"The W20 uses dual 3.5" HDDs to store the music file library, but plays back files using a 240GB SSD caching drive. SSDs are not manufactured in a 3.5" size and therefore cannot be employed in the vault that holds the drives in a W20. SSD drives are also of dubious value in the Aurender. Since we already cache and playback from an SSD, the HDDs that store the files experience little wear and tear. When albums are selected they simply startup and load the cache drive and then go idle. "

Not surprising given the source.
