I love the quality sound I am able get through my PS Audio NuWave DSD DAC but I cannot tell you that it will be better than your HRT2+ as I have never heard one.

You could take an intermediate step by getting the PS Audio NuWave DSD DAC and attaching it to your existing Windows XP machine. See how you like it then decide if you want to get the Mac Mini.

If you're somewhat familiar with Windows and have no Mac experience, there will be a bit of a learning curve. You can also upgrade to a newer Windows PC instead if you're already comfortable working in a Windows environment.
