This is also how AudioQuest DragonFly Black and Red as well as Geek Out V2 do things.
I think they're marvelous BTW. And I no longer care (if I ever did) that iPhones are losing their 3.5mm headphone jacks. I wouldn't listen to my iPhone -- which I now consider a worthy portable source -- without one of these devices ever again.
