reading more into it than what he said ie, replacing the HDPlex, which is a basic power supply with LT19xx chips with a much betetr one improves the sound. He proabay didn't need the $1400 one to get an improvement.

Have you not heard of the saying that preamps and poweramp SQ are determiend by the PS? The same is tue with digital boxes.

Some inmates go to town about the 'best' PSs based on $100 eBay purchases. Most of the time these are not good enough as they employ the same Lm or LT or even 78xx chips, and are bandwidth and or output impedance limited.
