RE: Question about Aurender N100 and drivers

is there a way of installing a MAC/PC driver on the Linux-based Aurender

Nope. Not unless you want to 'hack' it and possibly void the warranty.

One thing I'd be curious about is whether the USB DAC within the Marantz requires a proprietary driver to be installed on a Mac/PC in order for it to work. If this is the case, my guess would be that the Aurender probably doesn't support DACs that require proprietary drivers.

Unless I'm missing something, the way I see it is:

1) Run a Mac/PC with proprietary driver loaded and dump the Aurender.

2) Dump the Marantz and get a compatible USB DAC if you must connect via USB.

What did Aurender have to say?

You're pretty much at their mercy because unlike a PC/Mac, you can't just hack the Aurender, install what you need and be done with it.
