Jim Austin's PSA NuWave DSD DAC review

I found Jim Austin's review of the PS Audio NuWave DSD DAC in the May issue of Stereophile very interesting.

First, to the best of my knowledge it is the first published review where the author used Tidal as a source.

Secondly, in a direct comparison to the DirecStream DAC, about 5x more expensive, he says the DS was better ultimately, but the difference was smaller than he anticipated.

I have not heard either of the above, but I did hear the NuWave DAC prior to the DSD update. Not my cup of tea. To my ears, thin sounding and lit up, but of course that is a matter of taste and system synergy.
