SOtM makes excellent products. A buddy of mine deploys several of their servers in his home.
But here is a tidbit.
On Computer Audiophile Jesus from Sonore made it clear he no longer licenses the software that runs the SOtM stuff. Yes, he customized Sonic Orbiter for them, and, surprise, that is why they sounded so good and worked well.
He noted he no longer has ANY association with them and they wrote the software for the new 200 by themselves..which makes me a little worried.
Now, they may have pulled it off, but it is tough enough, as noted, to make great hardware....See Auralic for all their problems relating to trying to write software and be a great hardware maker.
