Nope...

Hi,

I think MQA is incredibly clever (for all I know).

But, audiophiles can bear the overhead to download 384k/32 Bit FLAC (it replaces the inconvenience of having to get up, flip the LP, clean it and drop the needle), I certainly don't mind, still faster than going to the record store or ordering on line.

The general public listens to AAC (Apple Music/iTunes) or MP3 (Spotify premium, Google Music etc.) and they will not get the MQA upgrade, in fact it will be like trying to teach a pig to sing. A good friend once advised me to not attempt that, because you are wasting your time, irritate the pig and it still will not sing.

Bottom line - MQA is a decade or two too late, in the market. If it will succeed, depends how well the proponents market it.

At 20 bits, you are on the verge of dynamic range covering fly-farts-at-20-feet to intolerable pain. Really, what more could we need?
