Android and Bluetooth - a finding

Hi folks.

I wanted to share a finding. ( I might be pretty late to the party - I still bring it up though)

At the breakfast table, workshop or kitchen, asf I use bluetooth
speakers to listen mostly to internet radio streams via my smartphone.
At 50-100$ these speakers make IMO quite some decent background noise.

Obviously audiophile qualities is not the top priority here.

I've been using radio apps like e.g. TuneIn for streaming.

The other day I figured that "USB Audio Player Pro", which also acts as standard Android player if no USB DAC is connected, supports radio streams.

The radio stream feature is extremely basic. Don't expect any fancy stuff here.
You need to enter the URL manually. Not much of a problem for me though. Usually I listen to the same station anyhow.
Then there is no stream information of any kind. OK. I don't need that.

Now. The actual finding.

When switching from TuneIn to USBAudioPlayerPro the soundquality
went quite a step up. And this was a 128kBit/s stream.
Everything becomes cleaner and crispier.
Dialogs are much easier to follow/understand.

I'd never expected that kind of improvement! Not bad at all.

Bottom line. If you own a bluetooth device and u use your Android phone
as bluetooth radio server you might want to give it a try.
I think it's well worth it - especially if u own that app already.

I do admit, I havn't tried any other quality Android audio apps that might support radio streams. I'd guess there's more then one option.

Enjoy.
