No, the problem cannot be solved by a powered USB hub.While it appears that only problems exist in your world, the good news for the rest of us is there are solutions. Revisit the link in my post for the hub and you'll find this:
"Dual-Purpose Wall Charger: 5V/2A charger powers the hub for accelerated data transfer, and also charges your phone."
It's 5V/2A output can charge your phone? Hmmm. Do you think that anyone has ever thought of providing a compatible battery source for tackling that challenge? :)
I purchased a Jockery Giant to power my Logitech Touch Network player. You'll note it also outputs 2A @ 5V and can run the player for many hours.
I return to using a high capacity flash drive. For $50, you can get one that can store ~ fifteen hundred hours of FLAC. You'd think that would suffice for portable use.
