RE: Upgrading Macbook Pro Retina Headphone jack

The 1/8" jack photo you found on the internet and re-posted is not from any Mac.

That being said, I wouldn't bother trying to upgrade the jack inside a laptop as there's not a lot of space in most of them and that's not where you will achieve significant improvement in sound.... unless the jack is actually bad or flakey.

I've used the headphone output from my work MacBook Pro and while it is OK, it's not great. I now use a headphone amp which is so much better, and mine isn't even a DAC, ...it's just a plane ole analog headphone amp. A good USB DAC/headphone amp might be even better.
