The Jriver wiki page says their 64 bit Internal Volume is the highest possible quality software volume.And on another page "The precision offered by Media Center's 64bit audio engine is billions of times greater than the best hardware can utilize."
Has anyone made the switch to using it as their volume control instead of a preamp? It seems most of us don't really need the (sometimes huge) additional gain a preamp offers, throwing away resolution with the preamp attenuator.
