Wish we had the rationale behind the tweaks

A better clock should make no difference at all to Ethernet. Throwing an audiophile trigger word like "jitter" around when talking about Ethernet mods is a red flag to me.

I'm not sure what the silver transformer is all about. I'm assuming it was placed between the standard pulse transformer and the jack. Ethernet is already transformer coupled, so adding another transformer doesn't really isolate things any more. If the additional transformer has a lower bandwidth than the pulse transformer there might be some filtering going on, but that might also be degrading the signal.

Aside from the tweaks, it seems to be just a generic 5 port switch in a metal box.

Of course Michael Lavorgna will say it improves the sound.
