that you posted that picture of the Melaleuca fragrance because the Melaleuca was brought over from Australia to soak up some of the Everglades' swampy areas and it's now classified as an invasive species, terribly so.
I have a stretch of I-75 here in Miami where there are Melaleuca stands on the shoulders and the inner grassy median areas, but we're expanding that stretch and so they've removed most of them.
They're very hardy and tough to remove and burning them only causes the water to boil and explode the trunks, which actually allows the trees to germinate elsewhere.
