Home Computer Audio Asylum

Music servers and other computer based digital audio technologies.

In 1985 I bought a Revox B225 CDP...

and at that time, it was the most expensive consumer CDP that one could buy. Think I paid $1200 for a demo unit.

Designed in Switzerland and built in Germany. While it sounded pretty good to my ears at the time, with their extremely limited exposure to CDs themselves, it generally couldn't hold a candle to today's even moderately priced CD players.

Digital audio has come a long way, but it was never 'perfect sound forever' back then, either.
