The guys at Hydrogen have ABX'd it and you can hear the difference. Paradoxically, the difference is apparently more apparent if you have a hearing problem or are listening on bad speakers, because irregular frequency response interferes with the psychoacoustical masking upon which MP-3 compression depends.

I didn't try ABing with Tidal but I thought the difference was obvious, even when using my Bluebuds wifi earbuds with my phone.
