RE: looking for feedback on a 24bit recording I did

Since you are recording at 24 bits there is no need to push the levels. Shoot for the highest peaks at -10 to -6 dBfs. If they are in the range of -14 to -2 dBfs then that's OK. If you want the final recording to be louder than you can always deal with this in a later pass over the file.
