I got this because 2 people at Mytek recommended it ,
for DSD Up-Converting, and for even better SQ than Audirvana Plus.
Unfortunately, JRiver for Mac doesn't do 2X DSD, ( yet) which is a bit of a disappointment, but AV+ does play 2X DSD Files, but no up-converting.
I've been listening to Enrico Peranunzi Trio plays Wayne shorter DSD 64 Download.
I got the SACD years ago, and was an instant Fav, great playing and recording and Tunes.
I have a Mytek DSD Dac with Firewire, IMac OS 10.9.6.
So anyway, my Point is that JRiver sounds fantastic, seems way more Dialed-In on the individual Instruments.
I think it it provides a very elegant, beautiful sound.
AV+ is a bit more forward and blunt, kind of like-OK, here's what ya'got, can't help it
if ya' don't like it.
JRiver seems to say, Well, let's see, maybe it could sound a little more refined, with even more separation/bled, a little more beautiful, don't you think?
Let's try it again, from the beginning, 2,3,4.
Media Center 20 for Mac is a Big step up for me.
I hope they add DSD 128 ASAP, but AV+ on DSD 128 is great.
I look forward to what JRiver will do with it!
Home Audio has really come a long way recently, and finding some new Music to listen to,
Downloading it, playing the File on the Computer, having it sound great,
It's great fun!
Great.
Great, I say.
