Another perspective

I use two Touch players, one wired via CAT6 and the other connected via a wireless N bridge.

I used to have dropouts on the wireless until I went with the bridge connection instead of using the Touch's receiver. I use an identical access point to the primary one configured as a bridge located in the garage closet where the gear is located (sorry about crappy pic). From there, I use a short Ethernet cable to the Touch. It is still using wireless for data transmission, but the Touch is "unaware".

I no longer get dropouts even when playing uncompressed 96/24 content (LMS is configured for the server to handle decompression).
