There are a couple of different possible sources for dropouts, but yes, the quality of the wireless connection is the most likely problem. You might improve it by moving or repositioning the Squezebox (altering the orientation of its antenna), by moving your wireless router, or by replacing the router with another. But the simplest fix is to switch to a wired ethernet connection.
The other possibility is that it may be due to a load on the computer running Logitech Media Server (LMS). If that computer is used for other tasks and gets bogged down, it could result in an interruption of the stream.
Also, if the computer running LMS is itself hooked up to you network via a wireless connection (many people run LMS on a laptop), that connection may be just as susceptible to wireless problems as the connection with the Squeezebox. The fewer wireless connections between the server and the Squeezebox, the better your chances of experiencing no dropouts.
You don't need a $22 Cat7 cable. A Cat5/5e or Cat6 cable that you can find at Best Buy or Home Depot will do the job just as well.
