No intent to fan any flames. But I have a Pono player that I listen to all the time, and it sounds excellent. I'm not aware of a competing unit that matches its level of SQ and the ease with which you can load pre-ripped FLAC files, without spending noticeably more than $400 (much less the $300 I paid as an initial backer).
No, you can't use it to make phone calls or play Angry Birds. No, it doesn't do BlueTooth. But if you want a music player for FLAC files, no more no less, than the Pono player is a great way to go.
