Linear Power Supply on Mac Mini

I just installed the filter module inside the Mac Mini for the TeraDak +12V linear power supply. It runs fine on the TeraDak, it runs on my heavy duty bench power supply, it almost runs but not quite on my Agilent lab power supply.

Jack for +12VDC installed in place of AC power jack

Preliminary test on TeraDak power supply works fine. Starts to boot on my Agilent lab supply but exceeds
5.5A current limit midway in boot cycle. Boot attempt cycles over and over but never quite makes it.

Bring out the big guns linear power supply. Boots fine. Steady state power draw while playing music is only 11-Watts.

Current draw while backing up one internal disk to another varies from about 2.4A to 3.4A (29 to 41 watts). Playing
music draws less than 11 Watts probably because the disks are not even being accessed but music is played out of
system RAM instead. Current draw reading on power supply is pretty accurate as I checked it against a Fluke DMM
that had the same readings.

Yes, all power supplies sound lovely. No, I have not done any critical listening yet. Time for dinner. I'm done for tonight.
