RE: Speaking of Linear Power Supplies Specs....

The transient response value for my Lab power supply is 50uS based on typical industry step response test from half load to full scale load. Of course this test cannot represent the varied digital switching current demands in a computer but it is at least specified. I am not aware of a comprehensive test that would cover it.

Transient response is not specified at all for many 'audiophile' power supplies. Transient response for the TeraDak and HDPlex are not specified.

Ripple noise voltage if specified at all is often done without mentioning the frequency range over which the noise is measured, or it is published for a narrow frequency range where the power supply performed at it's best.

My Lab power supply has a ripple spec of less than 1mV RMS from 20Hz - 20MHz.... and it's not considered a 'high-end' lab power supply.
