Just upgraded the Mac Mini to ~2TB on the cheap...

I subscribe to all those Newegg email blasts and a 24-hour deal on specific SSD models caught my eye. Picked up the 960GB SanDisk Ultra-II (Rev 3) for $360 delivered to my front porch.

Remove the 512GB SSD I installed a couple years ago. Reuse it in an old Toshiba laptop.

Install the new 960GB SSD.

Reinstall the stock 1TB hard disk with 960GB SSD beneath it. The stock 1TB hard disk doesn't spin unless I'm backing up to it.

Also bought another Samsung Pro 840 512GB SSD for my 7 year old MacBook Pro that was recently refreshed with Mac OS X 10.10 Yosemite for the wife. After 7 years it's still a fantastic laptop. We have newer Windows laptops and PCs that are ready for Goodwill or the electronics recycler.
