RE: Calling Abe...re: Backup Beginner II

Since the newer Mac OSs' have a hidden recovery partition if it's needed, I'm thinking the easiest way to backup is to simply use Time Machine which comes with every Mac.

The first Time Machine backup will take quite a while but subsequent ones will go faster. I would run it once then every now and then as your content changes (like adding more music to your Library).

If you leave Time Machine ON, it will backup automatically every hour but you probably don't want that to happen while you're playing music.

You can also experiment with Carbon Copy Cloner and SuperDuper. I use SuperDuper but may be changing my backup strategy soon depending on how these interact (possibly overwriting) the hidden recovery partition.

The simple solution for now is probably Time Machine unless you have some time to experiment on your own.
