RE: Question for fmak - funny you asked

A few days ago, I decided to do a reverse SQ check by removing the iUSB Power and the Gemini cable (a nuisance because of the fairly loose connections between the two and the heavy cable, one touch and connection is lost) and substituting with a 1m Wireworld Silver.

The sound is now a good bit more dynamic and open, without hf issues from the W4SDSD with improved clock, and I liked it better.

So the answer for me is that the iUSB Power is not needed for both of my 2 systems. Going back to the wall wart, yes I did find the smps to highlight hf and a linear supply (9V LM317 regulator into 5V ALW superregulator) got rid of that. iFi's own performance graph shows that there are hf peaks in the wall wart's output and this cannot be avoided easily in a switcher.

It would be good if you can do a reverse SQ check and see if what I get is what you get also.

I am going t get the Decrapifier soon.
