Doesn't sound normal to me. I've owned a handful of DACs driven by my Mac Mini and never heard that kind of 'clicking' in the audio. Have you heard this with other DACs or just your Caiman?

The only 'clicking' noise I've experienced was with one particular DAC when switching sampling rate, playing a 24/96 file then a DSD128 file, as an example. And the 'clicking' was the DAC's own internal muting relay, not audio from it's outputs.
