Who needs Pono?

That's right, who needs a Pono player for $399 when you can have this nifty, aluminum case Fiio X-1 for only $99? This thing is quite the bargain and appears to be pretty well made. It comes in silver and a very classy looking champagne color. Black would be nice, too, but is not offered.

It supports APE, FLAC, WAV, WMA, ALAC file formats at up to 192kHz/24bits. It also supports MP3 and other lossy formats - MP2、AAC、WMA、and OGG. And it comes with a 1700 mAh lithium-polymer battery that's good for 10-15 hours on a single charge. Additionally, you can have up to 128GB of storage, enough for a pant-load of hi-res files!

And if you absolutely gotta have a DSD-capable player that also operates as an outboard DAC, look at the Fiio X-3 at $169:

And you can add a 64GB memory card for only $30 - such a deal!

Looks like we're entering the Golden Age for DAPs...
