RE: Suggest a Computer for Audio

List your current audio system. It makes it easier for folks to recommend like minded gear.

You've mentioned hi-rez. Does that mean 24/96 or higher? Why? Most can't hear the difference between 16/44 and 24/96, let alone higher. Maybe your hearing is acute though :) mine isn't :)

Whether is it's a pc/laptop/mac mini,etc., I would go new. Concentrate your money on the DAC/converter. I use the Ayre QB9 and really like it. There are plenty of other great DAC's out there. Purchase a well thought out music player/manager. I use JRiver Media but again there are others.

I use WD 2 TB USB drives. One for listening and two for back ups.
