I transitioned to a computer music server a couple of years ago and I also find that it sounds just as good or better than my CD player. It took a couple of months to rip my 700 CDs but I wouldn't go back if you paid me. I had an April Music Stello CDT100 transport with Stello DA100 Signature DAC. The transport was connected to the DAC via I2S and the DAC also had a USB input for my computer. Therefore, it was easy to make sound quality comparisons and I felt my computer music server sounded just as good or better than the CD transport. I've since replace everything with an Oppo BDP-105D, which acts as my music server, DAC, CD player, SACD player and DVD/Blu-Ray player. The Oppo has three USB ports for connecting USB hard drives and flash drives directly and I now play hi-res digital and DSD digital files from USB flash drives connected directly to the Oppo BDP-105D. I'm a firm believer in playing digital audio from hard drives and/or flash drives.Best regards,
John Elison
