install linux on an old PC, use that. They run like water heaters, only need to reboot every dozen years.
Mac recommendation though, yes get it. I haven't used LMS on Mac but it works and it should work according to their web site. It is just a perl script I think, no problem. MacOSX is based on the Darwin Kernel, related to Linux/Unix. More Unix though... kind of like FreeBSD which is what runs AudioAsylum last time Rod M told me.
