Here is a good site to keep up with the latest SSD technology. The Intel 520 series is very stable.
The "Samsung 840 Pro" drives are currently the fastest consumer SSDs available.
I have a few of both of these drives in various machines and have not had any problems with them.
I have only had 2 SSDs fail on me. One was a Crucial or Corsair (can't remember which now) and one was a OCZ Revo SSD RAID PCIe card. The Revo SSD RAID card was very fast and tanked equally as fast(only lasted a couple of months, $800 bucks down the drain). I could not RMA it because it had proprietary customer data on it.
