I don't see how a USB adapter eliminates the cable from the equation.
Many claim that different cables sound different. How does putting an A-B adapter on the end of the cable eliminate whatever effect it has on the signal?
That is not contrarian. That is genuine interest in how an experiment can be devised that eliminates cable variances from the equation.
