RE: how much storage does a cd require

A good rule of thumb for me has been that ripping a disc that measures out to 680Mb will generally give you a file that is about half that. Many discs start out with only 350Mb a few will top out at 700Mb. This using AppleLossLess or FLAC. Doesn't seem to matter which.
