It is thought the apple incident never happened, but was invented by Voltaire.
Newton sufferred a paranoid episode in his 50's. He was a quarrelsome individual with few friends. It is thought that he suffered from Aspergers syndrome.
So all in all, he would have felt at home on a 21st C audiophile forum.
