I really can't speak for what others claim.I also don't think the effects are due to mass. Its easy to test, just place a small rock of similar mass on the transformer and listen for a change. Then place one of the crystals, I tried it and the sound is completely different. The small stone did not change the sound what-so-ever, while different crystals do change the sound in differnt ways...sometimes for the better sometimes not, depending on the crystal.
Truth be told, I only tried two different types of crystals and I don't like the sound of the Orange ones...[don't remember the name].
Everything isn't for everybody, and if you already have your system dialed in, you probably won't be motivated to try the crystals. Myself, I am all for trying all kinds of tweaks, esp the cheap and free ones. I don't have to know exactly how it works to believe or know that it does. Many people have no idea exactly how a car works yet they use them everyday.
