... you use an external USB hard drive to store the music files? I don't really understand how USB works. I have a macbook air with 250 gigs. I've recently started to rip my vinyl and at first blush really prefer the 96khz 24b resolution over the standard rez. I'm going to fill up the hard drive pretty quick at this pace so I'd like to go to a usb drive for storage. The idea would be to play directly from the usb drive through the computer to the DAC. I use asynchronous HRT dacs (MSII+ or head streamer). Of course why bother if you loose the jitter reduction benefits.
Thanks!
Nate
