Room treatments are the second line of defense after speaker placement, which is the MOST IMPORTANT. Just dont overdo them and eliminate the bass or kill the liveness.
Software room correction is overrated IMO. Most systems do need a little EQ however even after good speaker placement and treatments, and this can be accomplished with Amarra EQ or other S/W tools.
